The property dates to the 1830’s as a working dairy farm owned by the Hemmer. Family, who continues their long family lineage on Hemmer Road, and in the Jeffersonville area. Sold in the early 1970’s, the farm house and property took on a different look, and then remained uninhabited for four years, until the purchase by the Moloney Family around 1977 who cultivated a Standardbred training facility, until its sale in 1999. Purchased by the Young Family, the property took on a new pond, additional stalls, and an indoor riding area for development of a Hunter/Jumper training/show facility.

Daniel and Elinor Young, living full time in Jeffersonville chose to settle in the area because Elinor’s family roots are established in Sullivan County.  Elinor father’s, Gerald Berman lived in Shandelee in the mid 1930's and went to the original Jeffersonville High School. Elinor’s mother, Muriel Feldman Berman grew up in Monticello, one of many sisters and the daughter of a Monticello plumber Max Feldman and his wife Mary. Except for Muriel, the sisters lived in Monticello, and raised their families until their passing.

In 1999, after much searching in Sullivan County for a house and property to purchase, when Daniel saw the Moloney property (the old Hemmer farm house) the search was over. As Daniel describes “there could have been a hole in the roof, or a river in the basement, it would have not mattered.”  It was the property that he had many visions for. Daniel and Elinor wanted a house that would accommodate horses, but Daniel saw more than that. He saw a future horse farm that had been Elinor’s dream since she was a child. From the age of 10 growing up in central New Jersey, Elinor worked in barns, cleaning horses in exchange for ride lessons. The passion continued with the purchase of a horse, continued riding, lessons and education (Iowa State University,) showing, and teaching lessons throughout the years. The purchase of the Hemmer farm house to Elinor and Daniel was complete in October 1999, and was a wedding gift to each other.

Daniel grew up in northern New Jersey, and graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island in 1985 as a trained chef.  After cooking for many prestigious clients over the years; catering for Springsteen band, NJ Nets, WNEW Radio and for the Private jets out of Teterboro Airport, cooking for the Queen of Spain, Ronald Reagan, and countless others, Daniel wanted to move toward working more regular hours. He went into food sales in 1990 and developed a strong reputation in New York Metro area for supplying top quality pastry ingredients and chocolate products to the chefs so they could create specialized desert products. Daniel would tease how he knew all the top chefs of New York in the early 1990's before they each became celebrity chefs. Dan brought himself to a level that currently allows him to work from his home in Jeffersonville selling imported foods to the top distributors around the country.

On October 2nd, 2018 they each pursued their own interests.
